Dr. Mie Shirai was born and raised in Nagano, Japan. After graduating from high school Dr. Shirai continued her education in the United States, where she attended Seattle University. While attending Seattle University she decided to pursue a career in medicine and gravitated toward podiatry because of her desire to keep people active and on their feet.
Dr. Shirai is a Diabetic Foot Care Specialist. She began to practice in Long Beach after graduating from William Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in 2006 and completing her residency program at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. She now considers Long Beach to be her home.
In her free time, Mie enjoys traveling, knitting, cooking, and loves spending time with her African Sulcata Tortoise and her Ragdoll Kitty named Sunny. You can catch her in the sky as well these days, training to become a pilot.
